ITINERARY

​

Day 1 –      Arrive Bhubaneswar - Puri

 

Bhubaneshwar, the capital of Odisha is our point of arrival by flight / train. En route to Puri, we visit Konark Sun Temple which is an exceptional testimony, in physical form, to the 13th-century Hindu Kingdom of Orissa, under the reign of Narasimha Deva I (AD 1238-1264). Relive the history through a Sound & Light show at Konark.   Raghurajpur, a heritage crafts village known for its master Pattachitra painters, an art form which dates back to 5 BC.

 

Evening visit Lord Jagannath temple, one of the oldest Hindu temples to still be in use, its main shrine was built by Anantavarman of the Chodaganga dynasty in the 10th century.

Day 2 –      Puri – Chilika - Gopalpur

 

Take in an early morning darshan of Sri Jagannatha. After breakfast check out and proceed to Chilika lake  which houses a large range of birds, animals like black buck, and also sea creatures like Dolphins.

Day 3 –      Gopalpur - Bhubaneswar

         

Village visits on the way back to Bhubaneswar gives insights into the beautiful handloom traditions of Orissa.

Day 4 -       Bhubaneswar - Lalitagriri - Bhubaneswar

 

Lalitagiri is a major Buddhist site in Odisha. The complex is home to stupas and monasteries.

Day 5 -         Bhubaneswar - Departure

 

The Lingaraja temple is the largest in Bhubaneswar. The central tower of the temple is 180 ft (55 m) tall. The temple represents the quintessence of the Kalinga architecture.
